Union Minister of State for Tribal Affairs informed Lok Sabha about the implementation of Dharti Aaba Janjatiya Gram Utkarsh Abhiyan in Chamba district, Himachal Pradesh. 156 villages across 7 blocks have been identified for development under the scheme.
Background
Dharti Aaba Janjatiya Gram Utkarsh Abhiyan is a central scheme for tribal development. Chamba district has two Integrated Tribal Development Projects (ITDPs): Bharmour and Pangi.

Two ITDPs in Chamba: ITDP Bharmour (30 villages) and ITDP Pangi (48 villages) covered.
Projects worth Rs 551.11 lakh approved for ITDP Bharmour and Rs 851.00 lakh for ITDP Pangi.
Total funds released under DAJGUA: Rs 1,090.32 lakh (FY 2025-26: Rs 708.44 lakh; FY 2026-27: Rs 381.88 lakh).
Activities funded: construction of 2 tribal school classrooms (Rs 280 lakh), 1 hostel building (Rs 275 lakh), 13 toilet blocks (Rs 131 lakh), repair of 62 hostels/ashrams/schools (Rs 716.11 lakh), 2 Tribal Multipurpose Marketing Centres (Rs 200 lakh), and Forest Rights Act implementation (Rs 8.67 lakh).
