Background
PMKSY was launched in 2015-16 as an umbrella scheme for irrigation development. It includes components like AIBP (Accelerated Irrigation Benefit Programme) and HKKP (Har Khet Ko Pani), with sub-components for command area development, surface minor irrigation, and repair/renovation/restoration of water bodies.

PMKSY launched in 2015-16 as an umbrella scheme by the Government of India.
Two main components: AIBP and HKKP, implemented by the Department of Water Resources, River Development and Ganga Rejuvenation.
HKKP sub-components: CAD&WM (Command Area Development & Water Management), SMI (Surface Minor Irrigation), and RRR (Repair, Renovation & Restoration of water bodies).
Since April 2016, AIBP created 30.66 lakh hectares of irrigation potential; in last 3 years (2023-24 to 2025-26), 4.09 lakh hectares.
HKKP-SMI created 4.29 lakh hectares since April 2016; 0.96 lakh hectares in last 3 years.
HKKP-RRR restored 1.27 lakh hectares since April 2016; 0.41 lakh hectares in last 3 years.
HKKP-CAD&WM developed command area of 23.42 lakh hectares since April 2016; 3.76 lakh hectares in last 3 years.
In Telangana, AIBP created 204.74 thousand hectares since April 2016 (15.18 thousand in last 3 years); HKKP-RRR restored 25.55 thousand hectares (9.24 thousand in last 3 years).
No projects were initiated in Dahod Lok Sabha constituency under AIBP and HKKP components.
Central assistance released since April 2016: AIBP ₹21,823.46 crore, HKKP-SMI ₹5,917.82 crore, HKKP-RRR ₹781.76 crore.
