CSIR-CRRI has launched the first phase of nationwide implementation of advanced indigenous road infrastructure technologies across 16 cities/sites, marking the start of its platinum jubilee celebrations. Union Minister Dr. Jitendra Singh inaugurated the event and called for stronger industry partnerships to scale up these technologies from labs to highways.

CSIR-CRRI (Central Road Research Institute) is a premier research institute under CSIR, focused on road engineering, pavement technologies, intelligent transport systems, road safety, and sustainable construction materials. The institute is celebrating its platinum jubilee from July 16, 2026 to July 16, 2027.

The initiative aims to demonstrate and scale up innovative and sustainable road construction and maintenance technologies developed by CSIR-CRRI.
Technologies showcased include road engineering, pavement technologies, intelligent transport systems, road safety, and sustainable construction materials.
The event saw participation from scientists, researchers, industry leaders, policymakers, and representatives from central and state government organizations.
Dr. Singh emphasized that scientific research fulfills its purpose only when technologies reach the field from laboratories.
