The National Health Authority (NHA) held a two-day national review meeting (Chintan Shivir) to assess progress and chart the next phase of Ayushman Bharat PM-JAY and Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission (ABDM). The meeting focused on strengthening implementation, digital transformation, and centre-state collaboration.
Background
Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (AB PM-JAY) is the world's largest health insurance scheme, providing cashless treatment. Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission (ABDM) aims to create a digital health ecosystem. The NHA is the implementing agency under the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare.
Key facts
AB PM-JAY has provided cashless treatment worth over ₹1.91 lakh crore through a network of 37,000+ hospitals.
ABDM has generated over 94 crore Ayushman Bharat Health Account (ABHA) numbers and linked over 100 crore health records.
NHA released its annual report and detailed guidelines for District Implementation Unit (DIU), Beneficiary Empowerment (BE), and Hospital Empanelment Module (HEM).
The meeting emphasized technology-based reforms for clinical governance, claim management, and program transparency.
New digital health initiatives like Aarogya Setu 2.0, Ayushman App, and National Health Claims Exchange (NHCX) were highlighted.
AI and data-driven governance were stressed for evidence-based healthcare.
The meeting was inaugurated by Union Minister of State for Health and AYUSH Shri Prataprao Jadhav.
Senior officials from the Ministry of Health, NHA, and all states/UTs participated.
