The initiative 'Meri Samiti, Mera Patal' was highlighted in a Lok Sabha reply by Union Minister Amit Shah. It aims to empower Primary Agricultural Credit Societies (PACS) through digital profiling and real-time data transparency.
Background
PACS are grassroots cooperative credit institutions in India. The initiative is conceived by Regional Institute of Cooperative Management (RICM), Chandigarh under the National Council for Cooperative Training (NCCT).
Key facts
Initiative conceived and launched by RICM, Chandigarh under NCCT.
Aims to empower PACS by addressing training needs, improving governance, and enhancing visibility.
Facilitates digital profiling of PACS and creation of a centralized, transparent, real-time data system.
Currently implemented in jurisdiction of RICM, Chandigarh covering Punjab, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu & Kashmir, Delhi, Chandigarh, and Leh-Ladakh.
No proposal to extend the portal nationwide at present.
Expected benefits: identity and transparency via digital profile, public visibility, and real-time data transparency.
