Why in news
The Ministry of Panchayati Raj is implementing the e-Panchayat Mission Mode Project (MMP) under the Rashtriya Gram Swaraj Abhiyan (RGSA) to digitally empower PRIs. Recent data shows over 98% of gram panchayats have uploaded their development plans on e-Gram Swaraj, and 95% have made payments through the e-Gram Swaraj-PFMS interface. This marks a significant milestone in digital governance at the grassroots level.
Background

The Ministry of Panchayati Raj implements the centrally sponsored RGSA scheme since FY 2022-23 to strengthen PRIs through capacity building and digital tools. The e-Panchayat MMP aims to bring transparency, efficiency, and accountability in PRI functioning.
