Background
The Assam government announced in 2023 plans to construct a luxury hotel at Kaziranga, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and the world's largest habitat for the endangered one-horned rhino. Doley and another activist were arrested on July 12 for leading protests at Ingle Pathar village near the park.
