Nearly 40% of schools in Punjab failed to disclose their fee structure by the July 25 deadline under the Punjab Regulation of Fee of Unaided Educational Institutions (Amendment) Ordinance, 2026. The state government extended the deadline to July 31 to ensure compliance.
Background
On June 23, 2026, the Punjab cabinet approved an ordinance capping annual fee hikes by unaided schools at 5%. Schools were required to upload fee details for the past four academic sessions starting from 2023-24.
