Why in news

The Ministry of Parliamentary Affairs informed Rajya Sabha that 33 out of 37 state/UT legislatures have signed MoUs for NeVA, with 21 already converted to digital assemblies. The mid-term evaluation shows improved efficiency, reduced paper dependence, and better accessibility.

Background

NeVA is a centrally sponsored scheme (CSS) aimed at digitizing legislative processes across Indian legislatures, making them paperless and efficient.
