Direction No. 98, notified on 20.02.2026, set a uniform and stringent PM emission standard of 50 mg/Nm³ for identified industry categories in Delhi-NCR, based on CPCB technical recommendations and IIT Kanpur studies. Industries faced challenges in meeting the original deadline, including delays in APC device procurement and limited testing lab capacity.
