Government agencies are considering releasing the ARAI study on E20 fuel's impact on E10-compatible vehicles. The report, submitted in June 2024, found slight increases in fuel consumption but emissions within regulatory limits. Making it public aims to remove misconceptions among vehicle users about E20 fuel.

In June 2021, the petroleum ministry directed ARAI and IOCL, in association with SIAM, to carry out the study. The report was submitted in June 2024.
