Uttar Pradesh is establishing a state-level health policy think tank, the State Health Systems Resource Centre (SHSRC-UP), to guide a major healthcare overhaul. Experts from leading institutions are preparing a five-year strategic roadmap to build a resilient, tech-driven, and patient-centric medical infrastructure across the state.

Uttar Pradesh is creating a dedicated state-level health policy and research think tank called the State Health Systems Resource Centre - Uttar Pradesh (SHSRC-UP).
A two-day roundtable titled 'Aarogya Manthan – Benchmarking Health, Mapping Progress: Uttar Pradesh' was held in Lucknow to prepare a five-year strategic roadmap.
Experts from IIM-Lucknow, Johns Hopkins University, ICMR, WHO, Unicef, NABH, and the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare contributed recommendations.
The roadmap uses SWOC analysis, gap analysis, and evidence-based policy discussions to identify practical and scalable interventions.
Manoj Kumar Singh, CEO of the State Transformation Commission, will chair SHSRC-UP.
The think tank aims to serve as a technical bridge between policy, research, and implementation.
Additional chief secretary Amit Kumar Ghosh emphasized governance reforms, accountability, and quality improvement as pillars of healthcare transformation.
The initiative focuses on achieving universal health coverage and improving health outcomes across UP.
