Prime Minister Narendra Modi will interact with participants of the Viksit Vibrant Village Program 2026 on July 26 via video conferencing. The program engaged over 400 youth from all states and UTs in 74 border villages across Ladakh, Himachal Pradesh, and Uttarakhand.

The Viksit Vibrant Village Program is part of the government's vision to transform border villages into 'first villages' of the nation, integrating them into the journey of a developed India. It is implemented through the My Bharat platform.

The program was held in two phases from 4 June to 30 June 2026, covering 74 vibrant border villages in Ladakh, Himachal Pradesh, and Uttarakhand.
Over 400 youth participants, representing all states and UTs, were selected through a nationwide online quiz competition with over 3 lakh participants.
Activities included cleanliness drives, awareness campaigns on government schemes, youth conferences, cultural exchange programs, tree plantation, mini panchayat model simulations, interactions with local artisans, and visits to strategically important institutions.
The program provided firsthand experience of the socio-economic landscape, cultural heritage, and developmental aspirations of India's border areas.
It fostered community participation, national unity, and a deeper understanding of the strategic importance of border villages.
