Why in news

The Department of Land Resources (DoLR) recently held a high-level meeting with the RBI Innovation Hub (RBIH) to explore convergence of Digital Public Infrastructure (DPI) for land administration and digital credit. This collaboration aims to enable seamless, secure, and consent-based credit delivery to farmers and rural citizens, leveraging authenticated digital land records.

Background

India has been digitizing land records through initiatives like the Digital India Land Records Modernization Programme (DILRMP). The RBI Innovation Hub was set up to foster innovation in the financial sector. Integrating these digital infrastructures can streamline credit access, reduce fraud, and enhance financial inclusion.
