The Union Home Minister has approved ₹2,117.85 crore as advance central assistance from the State Disaster Response Fund (SDRF) for seven flood-affected states during Monsoon 2026. Background

The SDRF is the primary fund available with states for disaster response, with contributions from both Centre and states. During severe disasters, states can seek advance releases from the central share. The Centre also deploys NDRF teams and Inter-Ministerial Central Teams (IMCT) for damage assessment.
