NHAI launches Digital Local Pass & Margamitra Help Centre on Rajmargyatra App

Why in news
NHAI has launched two new digital services on the Rajmargyatra mobile app: Digital Local Pass and Margamitra Help Centre. This move aligns with Digital India and Ease of Living vision, making highway travel more convenient.
Background
Previously, local residents had to physically visit toll plazas to purchase local passes and submit documents. The new digital system eliminates this need.
Key facts
Digital Local Pass allows eligible residents within 20 km of a toll plaza to buy a monthly unlimited travel pass digitally via the Rajmargyatra app.
The first Digital Local Pass facility started at Mundka-Bakkarwala toll plaza on Urban Extension Road-II in Delhi.
The pass uses consent-based integration with DigiLocker and Vahan for auto-verification of address, vehicle number, and linked FASTag.
GIS-based verification establishes eligibility, eliminating paper documents.
Margamitra Help Centre is an intelligent digital assistance platform integrated within the Rajmargyatra app.
It supports 22 Indian languages for queries, feedback, or complaints via text or voice.
Margamitra provides info on FASTag recharge, KYC, refunds, annual/local passes, and FAQs.
Users can file complaints, track progress in real-time, and appeal if unsatisfied.
It also allows checking FASTag blacklist status, pending e-notices, and reporting road safety issues like stalled vehicles or encroachments.
This builds on the success of Annual Pass sales on the same app.
