The Union Cabinet, chaired by PM Modi, approved the 'Bharat Industrial Development Yojana Rasayan' (BHAVYA Rasayan) scheme to set up three dedicated chemical parks. Announced in the FY 2026-27 Union Budget, the scheme aims to boost the chemical sector's global competitiveness and promote sustainable industrial growth.

The chemical and petrochemical sector is crucial for downstream industries like agriculture, textiles, pharmaceuticals, construction, and electronics. The scheme addresses the need for shared infrastructure to reduce costs and improve environmental compliance.

Total financial outlay: ₹3,030 crore (₹3,000 crore for park infrastructure, ₹30 crore for administrative expenses).
