Background

UPI (Unified Payments Interface) is a real-time payment system developed by the National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI), an initiative of the RBI and Indian Banks' Association. It facilitates inter-bank transactions through mobile phones and has become the preferred mode of digital payment in India.
