Background
The One District One Product (ODOP) initiative was launched by the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT) to select, brand, and promote at least one product per district for holistic regional development.
Key facts
ODOP is a DPIIT initiative to promote at least one product per district for holistic development.
1,244 products have been identified across 773 districts under ODOP.
Products are selected by respective state/UT governments.
Promotional steps include participation in domestic/international exhibitions, capacity building, and e-commerce onboarding on GeM-ODOP marketplace.
Under SASCI, each state/UT with legislature can get up to ₹200 crore interest-free loan for 50 years to set up PM Ekta Malls for selling ODOP, GI, and local handicraft products.
PMFME scheme adopts ODOP approach for food processing, providing 35% capital subsidy up to ₹10 lakh, seed capital for SHG members, capacity building, and branding support.
PMFME branding component provides 50% grant for common branding, packaging, quality standardization, and food safety compliance.
No separate financial allocation for ODOP; states/UTs are encouraged to use benefits from various central/state schemes.

Forward linkages: Coordination committees with APEDA and Fisheries Department for export-oriented value chains; 24 common ODOP product groups with APEDA and 7 fish/seafood groups with MPEDA identified.
