NCVET Recognises NIIT Foundation as Dual Certification Body for AI-Based Skill Development

NCVET has signed an agreement with NIIT Foundation, recognising it as a dual certification awarding body. This enables NIIT Foundation to directly conduct training, assessment, and issue NSQF-aligned certificates for approved qualifications across its pan-India network, strengthening AI-based skill development.
Background
The National Council for Vocational Education and Training (NCVET) is the apex regulator for vocational education and training in India, established under the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship. It sets standards and awards recognition to training providers. NIIT Foundation is a non-profit focused on skill development.

NIIT Foundation can now directly organise training, conduct assessments, and issue NSQF-compliant certificates for approved qualifications across India.
The agreement signing was chaired by Shri Niranjan Kumar Sudhanshu, Additional Secretary, Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship and Executive Member of NCVET.
Other officials present included Lt Col Vikram Singh Bhati (Director, Accreditation, NCVET), Lt Col Saurabh S Bisht (Director, Monitoring, NCVET), and Ms. Charu Kapoor (Country Director, NIIT Foundation).
NCVET approved the first two courses developed by NIIT Foundation: 'Fundamentals of Digital Productivity' (NSQF Level 3) and 'Fundamentals of Data Management' (NSQF Level 4).
'Fundamentals of Digital Productivity' covers workplace productivity, digital collaboration, data management, workplace readiness, and AI-enabled workflow management.
'Fundamentals of Data Management' covers data management, analysis, reporting, visualization, dashboard creation, and effective use of AI-assisted productivity tools.
This recognition reflects NCVET's commitment to promoting innovative, industry-relevant qualifications aligned with emerging technologies and future workforce needs.
