The Indian Institute of Corporate Affairs (IICA), Shillong, under the Ministry of Corporate Affairs, successfully organized a webinar to raise awareness about the 'Corporate Mitra Yojana' among youth, students, MSMEs, professionals, and enterprises in Arunachal Pradesh. This initiative is part of a broader campaign for the North Eastern Region (NER) and aims to empower MSMEs in Tier-2 and Tier-3 cities to contribute to the 'Viksit Bharat@2047' vision.
Background
The Corporate Mitra Yojana is a scheme by the Ministry of Corporate Affairs designed to create a supportive ecosystem for MSMEs by providing access to qualified, recognized, and trustworthy para-professionals called 'Corporate Mitras'. These professionals offer affordable compliance and business support services, enabling MSMEs to focus on innovation and growth. The scheme also aims to train young graduates as industry-relevant para-professionals.
Key facts
The webinar was organized by IICA Shillong in collaboration with Rajiv Gandhi University (RGU), with ICMAI as the principal co-host and ICSI and ICAI as associate co-hosts.
The scheme targets MSMEs in Tier-2 and Tier-3 cities to help them play a role in the 'Viksit Bharat@2047' vision.
Corporate Mitras are para-professionals who provide affordable and accessible professional assistance in regulatory, compliance, financial, taxation, accounting, and governance aspects.
The scheme initially aims to enroll 2000 participants across India, with 200 specifically from the North Eastern Region (NER).
Candidates from NER receive a 50% fee concession.
IICA Shillong has been designated as the nodal agency for implementation and expansion of the scheme in the NER.
Registrations for the Corporate Mitra course started on 15 July 2026 and will continue until 31 July 2026.
