Background
Section 301 of the US Trade Act of 1974 allows the US to investigate and retaliate against foreign trade practices deemed unfair. The US had initiated an investigation into forced labour practices across multiple countries, including India. India engaged extensively through written submissions and consultations to mitigate the impact.
