During President Droupadi Murmu's state visit to Romania, both countries discussed finalising a Mobility Partnership Agreement for the movement of skilled professionals. This visit is part of India's efforts to enhance engagement with Central and Eastern Europe.
Background
India and Romania have been discussing economic cooperation, including the possibility of Indian skilled professionals working in Romania, since a Bilateral Joint Economic Committee meeting in November 2025. The current state visit also covers Moldova and North Macedonia.
