Why in news

NHAI has launched the Multi-Lane Free Flow (MLFF) tolling system at Shahjahanpur toll plaza on the Delhi-Jaipur section of NH-48, making the entire Manesar to Jaipur stretch barrier-free. This is the third toll plaza on this corridor to adopt MLFF, following Daulatpura and Manoharpura, marking a significant step towards seamless and efficient highway travel.

Background

The MLFF system is part of the government's initiative to enhance ease of travel and reduce congestion at toll plazas. It integrates Automatic Number Plate Recognition (ANPR) with FASTag-based electronic toll collection, allowing vehicles to pass without stopping. The system was previously implemented at Daulatpura and Manoharpura on the same corridor.
