Union Minister Piyush Goyal completed a five-day visit to Spain, Belgium, Finland, and Estonia (July 13-18, 2026), aimed at deepening India's economic partnership with Europe. The visit saw progress in India-EU FTA talks and the launch of a '10x10x10' vision to boost bilateral trade, investment, and tourism with Spain tenfold in a decade.
Background
India and the EU have been negotiating a Free Trade Agreement (FTA) for several years. The Trade and Technology Council (TTC) was established to facilitate cooperation on trade, technology, and investment. This visit built on the momentum from recent FTA negotiations.

Piyush Goyal visited Spain, Belgium, Finland, and Estonia from July 13-18, 2026, with a high-level business delegation.
In Spain, Goyal proposed an annual India-Spain Joint Commission meeting and unveiled a '10x10x10' vision to increase bilateral trade, investment, and tourism tenfold in a decade.
Spain proposed setting up a dedicated 'India Team' to facilitate bilateral cooperation.
Both sides agreed to advance technical discussions on interoperability between India's UPI and Spain's Bizum digital payment platforms.
In Brussels, Goyal co-chaired the 3rd Ministerial meeting of the India-EU Trade and Technology Council (TTC) and adopted the 2026-27 TTC Work Plan.
The EU listed 21 additional Indian seafood establishments, bringing the total approved to 625.
India proposed launching an India-EU dialogue on skills, education, and talent mobility.
India raised the issue of listing Indian ship recycling yards.
Goyal invited Finnish companies to invest in manufacturing, R&D, and digital infrastructure in India.
The visit concluded in Estonia with high-level meetings to boost bilateral economic ties.
