Why in news

The Union Minister of Home Affairs and Cooperation informed Lok Sabha about the implementation of Yuva Sahkar and Swyam Shakti Sahkar Yojana by NCDC. These schemes aim to promote cooperative societies and provide financial access to the poor, including women SHGs.

Background

The schemes are fully funded and supported by the National Cooperative Development Corporation (NCDC), a statutory body under the Ministry of Cooperation.
