Background
PM-KISAN (Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi) is a central sector scheme launched in February 2019 to provide income support to all landholding farmer families. Under the scheme, eligible farmers receive Rs 6,000 per year in three equal instalments of Rs 2,000 each, transferred directly to their bank accounts.
