The Ministry of Textiles has issued guidelines for academic institutions to offer technical textiles courses under the National Technical Textiles Mission (NTTM). A total of 59 courses at UG and PG levels have been launched, and 47 proposals from institutions have been approved with a grant of ₹216.60 crore. This initiative aims to boost skilled manpower in the technical textiles sector across India.

The National Technical Textiles Mission (NTTM) was launched to promote technical textiles in India. Technical textiles are functional fabrics used in various industries like automotive, healthcare, and infrastructure. The mission focuses on research, development, and skill enhancement in this sector.
