Why in news
All states and union territories have notified their respective state plans under the Viksit Bharat-Rozgar Guarantee and Livelihood Mission (Rural) (VB-G Ram-Ji) Act, 2025. The scheme's implementation began on July 1, 2026, across rural areas nationwide. The Ministry of Rural Development is continuously reviewing preparations and providing technical assistance to ensure successful rollout.
Background
The VB-G Ram-Ji Yojana is a rural employment guarantee and livelihood mission enacted by the Government of India in 2025, replacing or superseding earlier rural employment schemes. It aims to provide guaranteed employment and livelihood opportunities in rural areas.
Key facts
All states and UTs have notified their state plans under the VB-G Ram-Ji Act, 2025.
Implementation started on July 1, 2026, across all rural areas of the country.
Funds allocated and released under the scheme are detailed state/UT-wise in an annexure.
Utilization and payment of funds will occur after states complete muster rolls and prepare FTOs (Fund Transfer Orders).
The central government is conducting weekly review meetings and high-level reviews chaired by the Minister and Secretary of Rural Development.
Continuous assistance and technical support are being provided to states/UTs for successful implementation.
The Ministry maintains regular contact with states/UTs through review meetings, consultations, and other platforms.
Suggestions from states/UTs are being noted by the Ministry.
